Section 1: Privacy & Data Security

  • Q1: My images contain sensitive data. Is it safe to upload them?

ConvertFT: Absolutely. We utilize proprietary distributed streaming technology. Your images are sliced and processed across multiple nodes concurrently, meaning no single server ever reconstructs or "sees" your full image. Processing happens entirely in-memory for maximum privacy.

  • Q2: Do you store my converted photos on your server?

ConvertFT: We do not keep your files long-term. Converted images are temporarily cached for 1 hour solely to ensure a successful download. After that, they are permanently purged from our system.

  • Q3: Who owns the copyright of the converted image?

ConvertFT: You do. ConvertFT is a purely technical service provider. We claim no rights or ownership over your files. You are free to use them for both personal and commercial

Section 2: Quality & Algorithms

  • Q4: Does converting to grayscale reduce image resolution?

ConvertFT: No. Grayscaling only re-maps pixel color values without altering physical dimensions. The file size reduction occurs because color entropy is lowered, allowing lossless compression algorithms (like DEFLATE) to work more efficiently, not because of quality loss.

  • Q5: Why do some grayscale photos look "flat"? How do you preserve contrast?

ConvertFT: Most tools use a basic "Average Method" ($Gray = (R+G+B)/3$), which often results in muddy, low-contrast images. ConvertFT uses the Luminosity Method: Applying the formula $Y = 0.299R + 0.587G + 0.114B$ to mimic human visual perception. This preserves the maximum dynamic range and texture details, delivering professional-grade black and white aesthetics. Section 3: Formats & Features

  • Q6: Can I batch convert hundreds of images at once?

ConvertFT: Yes. Thanks to our distributed architecture and global edge acceleration, hundreds of images can be processed simultaneously across multiple nodes. No quantity limits, no speed throttling.

  • Q7: Which file formats are supported?

ConvertFT: We support all major formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, BMP, and GIF. We also offer full support for transparency in PNG, WebP, and AVIF formats.

  • Q8: What is the difference between "Grayscale" and "Pure Black and White"?
    • Grayscale: Features 256 levels of gray (0-255), ideal for preserving photo depth and art.
    • Pure Black & White (Binarization): Consists of only two colors (absolute black and white).

  • Recommendation: Choose Grayscale for art/photography; choose Black & White for OCR, QR codes, or document scanning.

Section 3: Performance & Experience

  • Q9: Why is ConvertFT faster than other online tools?

ConvertFT: Our v1.5.0 update introduced a complete backend overhaul, reducing latency by 20% and eliminating task queuing through our distributed system.

  • Q10: Is there any cost or registration required?

ConvertFT: No. Our service is 100% free and registration-free. We focus on providing a high-performance, distraction-free environment for developers and designers.
